4th of July

Ajax did very well with his first out of town trip!  We left the house Thursday night after bath time.  It took us longer than usual to get up north (Mikado, MI- Dave’s hometown) as Dave decided to get off the freeway and take a “shortcut,” which ended up adding another hour to the drive.  By time we got up north Ajax was demanding to get out of the car.  There were quite a few people up north to help roof Dave’s parents’ house.  It was nice seeing everyone (especially the family from out of town whom we don’t get to see often) and everyone got to see Ajax.  Ajax even slept through the night up north.   We headed home Saturday night and got in around 1 am.  Ajax slept through the fireworks that we passed along the way.  Sunday was used to try and get Ajax back on his schedule (as it was a bit off up north, understandably).  Overall a very successful trip.  I was so nervous about Ajax getting off his schedule and possibly not sleeping well, but he proved me wrong and did great.

Ajax has again discovered that he can sleep through the night without getting up to eat, which is just wonderful.  I believe he is going through yet another growth spurt.  I had to pack away some more of his clothes, as the 3 month outfits are now getting a little tight on him.  This evening I heard his first real laugh, not just a little chuckle.  I got so excited I called for Dave, who was in the other room, and my shout startled Ajax and well that was the end of that laugh for the evening.  By the time Dave made it to the living room, Ajax was busy shoving his hands into his mouth, which prevented any further laughing.  For the 4th we’re heading up north to visit Dave’s family.  From our home it’s about a 4 hour drive.  As Ajax has decided he now hates the car, we plan on leaving tomorrow night, after bath time, and hopefully he’ll just sleep all the way up north.  It should be a good time and I’ll have some cute “up north” pictures on Sunday when we come home.
