Super Bowl

Well the Saints won over the Colts, 31-17, in Super Bowl XLIV, what a spectacular game folks!

Ok, so I had to look up those facts (like, who was playing, who won, etc.) and did not know them off the top of my head.  However, I did watch part of the game (mostly the commercials) as Dave, Ajax and I attended a baby-friendly Super Bowl party last night (Mary, James, thank you for hosting such a lovely event!).  Ajax did wonderful for refusing to nap all afternoon and was just enthralled with all the people, ninos and one very excited puppy.   He also got to play with a little guy (13-months), who was just so cute, and kept point to Ajax’s nose and ear, Ajax had this expression like, yea I know that’s my nose, what of it?  It was pretty funny.   He actually fell asleep on the way over and to try and give him a little extra time in the car, we circled our friends neighborhood for almost 20 minutes.  We enjoyed looking at all the houses… what else are you going to do?

Tonight when I was making dinner, Dave pointed out that we clearly need a true date night out as Ajax had thrown up all over my arm while I was preparing dinner and I hadn’t even noticed, even though once he pointed it out I realized that yes, I had felt the cold/damp on my forearm.

Knock Knock

Ajax’s bedroom is right off our living room, so yesterday when I put him down for a nap I heard him stand up in his crib and protest loudly (along the lines of – mother I do not need to nap, I simply am not tired, I wish to play).  Than I heard him banging his little hands against the wall (the wall which our TV is on)!   I had to go in and lay him down again because he was just standing in his crib hitting the wall, lol.

Ajax also now has 4 little teeth!  His upper central just came through and I think he’s feeling much better, though his nose is still pretty runny and he seems a little more tired than usual.

Although we may regret teaching him this later on, he will copy you if you blow a rasberry and it just cracks us up.
He gets all around.
He's all about stuffed animals, or soft things, right now.

Rite Aid

With my new organized coupon system I hit up Rite Aid like a pro!  Here’s my take-

In total I paid $14.93 (plus $2 in tax) and I will be getting $10.00 back from Rite Aid, so in total less than $5 bucks!

Bird

Ajax has now added another “word” to his vocabulary!  My aunt has confirmed that Ajax now says- bird and can correctly identify a bird!  So, ok, it really comes out as- bee-er-Da… but that is clearly bird.   He can also identify fish (from my aunt’s fish tank), but has yet to try that word.   Yesterday my mom picked up Ajax from my aunt’s house around noon and babysat.  She also watched him in the evening while Dave and I did some quick running around.  Thank you!

Lately Ajax has not had much interest in playing solo, so here's a pic of him totally entertaining himself, of course, till I started snapping pics of him... not sure why I bothered him.

The Great Coupon Adventure

So anyone who knows me, or has even skimmed this blog recently, knows that I have jumped on the coupon bandwagon.  Now, to take this one step further I decided my time in the store searching for coupons was not the most efficient, so I took a cue from other coupon gurus and put together a coupon binder.  Hopefully this new organization system will save me time… though the project itself took up several of my evenings this past week.  I also recruited Mr. Dave and my mom to assist with the project.  As an aside, it’s not the saving money part that has me hooked on coupons (though who doesn’t like saving money?), I find it appeals to my competitive side!

This was my old file system for coupons, it was to the point where I couldn't close it!

10 Months Old!

Ajax is ten months old today!  What a big boy!  I keep thinking that in April he’ll be a year old, how can I have been a mom for a year now?  Wasn’t I just pregnant?  I’ve actually already started thinking about his birthday party and baking him a “healthy” birthday cake… probably a carrot or apple spice cake.

Ajax was over Kristy’s house today and played with his cousins so much that he refused to close his eyes for his afternoon nap, by the time I got him home he could barely stay awake and crashed for an hour before dinner.  He doesn’t want to miss a thing.  It also looks like Ajax’s tooth is almost coming through and it seems (fingers crossed) like we’ve gotten by without another ear infection.

Dave is at the gym tonight and before bed Ajax walked (holding onto my hands) all around the house saying, da da?  He was looking for Dave!

Ajax managed to get his silkie out of his crib this morning and was trying to crawl around with it.  The problem was that he was having a hard time doing that, but refused to drop the silkie.  It was pretty funny watching him trying to crawl and open cabinet doors with it in hand.  The silkie is strictly a sleep thing and I don’t generally let him have it unless it’s bedtime/naptime, but really how could I take it away?

Ajax now gives "loves" to things. So cute.
This is now what my time in the kitchen looks like.

Recovery

Although Ajax is not yet 100% he is starting to rebound from the runny nose and cough that have accompanied this bout of teething (we have yet to see a new little tooth though).   On some development notes- Ajax has been sleeping wonderfully at night, so that means we finally have a well rested home.  He is also waving hi and bye now, which is just so cute.   He is babbling all the time now and has developed new “words” everyday.    He also pulls himself up on everything and wants to be everywhere you are (kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, etc).

Ajax is pulling himself up on everything, won't be long before he's walking.
Littler mover.
