Five Years Already

Today is Dave and Mine’s wedding anniversary!  We’ve been married five years and I cannot believe how fast the time has gone, it’s crazy.  It seems like yesterday we were going on our first date, walking through campus, and now look at us, all grown up with a mortgage and a nino of our own, lol.

We didn’t do anything too exciting for our anniversary, but I did make us a wonderful dinner and a chocolate cake for dessert.  The cake didn’t turn out so great and kind of just fell apart, but you know cake is cake.   I inadvertently gave Ajax to much juice with dinner making him a super hyper kid this evening, which made for a very fun bath and bedtime.  He literally ran circles around Dave and I till almost 8 pm before crashing.

Rite Aid

Although it may seem like forever since I’ve done a Rite Aid run, it hasn’t, I just haven’t been posting some of my trips.  I know you’ve been wondering… now what has she gotten at the drug store lately?  So here was my trip this morning-

  • Huggies diapers – reg. $19.99, on sale for $17.99
  • Two Nivea Happy lotions – $7.99 each, $15.98 total
  • Three Sunday Newspapers – $1.35 each, $4.05 total
  • Aquafresh toothpaste – $3.99, on sale for $2.50
  • TOTAL = $40.52
  • After coupons, UP rewards, and rain checks I paid $9.02 and got back $2 in UP rewards to use for later.

This wasn’t a great transaction, I somehow managed to lose a $2 coupon between home and the store, but I had $8 in UP rewards that I had to use before they expired and I needed diapers.  So overall, not great, but I’ve certainly done worse.

Ajax wanted to be in the picture too this week, but he kept throwing the toothpaste.

Happy New Year

We are home from an excellent trip up north!  Ajax was so tired from his adventures that he slept all the way home.

Wednesday morning we hit the road fairly early and got up north a little after noon.  Dave’s sister, Theresa, and her husband Tim drove up from North Carolina for the holidays as well, so it was a full house.    On Thursday Dara, Theresa and I went shopping in Alpena, leaving the guys home.   Friday was New Year’s Eve and that meant people over with good food.  Some friends brought over some other kids so Ajax had some ninos to play with.  One of the little girls wasn’t yet walking, so Ajax compensated by crawling all over the kitchen and living room with her.  It was so cute.  Ajax didn’t get to see the ball drop as he was in bed just after 9 pm, but then again I didn’t either as I fell asleep on the couch.

We had a great time up north and Ajax just wore himself out running after the dogs, going on tractor rides, and visiting.

He's certainly gotten the hang of opening gifts.
