Summer

A few summer memories that made me smile!

The kids spent a few days with their Aunt Lisa and Future Uncle Doug – building forts, kayaking, and wrestling!

They also had a ton of fun in the little pool we put up. It surprised us how many hours they spent playing in it.

Noomi’s 7th Birthday

This year was Noomi’s “small” birthday party- she is now SEVEN! We partied at home with family and neighborhood kids. It’s amazing how much fun kids can have with a little pool, some noodles, and a great summer day! Noomi got quite a few awesome gifts- some of which are hair related. She’s been very patient with me as we try out curlers.

No More Camps

This summer we sent the kids to a few different summer camps including: Impression 5, Potter Park Zoo, and the YMCA aquatics camp. They opted to stay clear of of the Kids Corner summer camp, so between the three-above mentioned camps they spent a lot of time with family. They dug holes and had cousin time with Grandma Dara and Papa. They swam and went fishing with Grandma Mary and Grandpa Gordy. They got ice cream with Aunt Emily. They went kayaking with Aunt Lisa and future-uncle Doug.

While the kids had a fun with their new summer camps, we also took this opportunity to attend a protest at the Capital to voice our outrage over the administration’s continued detention of families and children. Ajax listened tentatively to the speakers and asked some very good questions. Noomi enjoyed making signs, but then rolled around in the grass… still she understood that you don’t lock people in cages. Yea, my seven year old got that instinctively. Our current President is a disgrace (I’m restraining myself…).
